Workers' Compensation Associate

The Operations Associate will be responsible for working directly with workers’ compensation insurance companies to help our hospital clients get paid for the care they provide. This person will spend significant time on the phone and focus on verifying insurance information and hospital billing follow-up, amongst other tasks. In this role, a successful candidate will work on a team to achieve monthly goals and maintain a high level of client service.

Responsibilities:

  • Resolve hospital bills with workers’ compensation insurance plans
  • Maintain timely and professional follow-up on account volume, primarily via phone
  • Address and respond to denials from insurance companies to ensure accurate payment of submitted bills
  • Prioritize inquiries from key stakeholders and assist with project-specific tasks and reporting
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with key stakeholders and upper management
  • Utilize R1 and client software platforms to manage account information and workflow
  • Follow R1’s privacy, security, and compliance policies, including adherence to HIPAA guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in workers compensation or healthcare revenue cycle
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Self-starter with a team-first and can-do attitude, who can work interdependently within a team environment
  • Strong organizational and professional skills
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills

The US base pay range for this position is $15.00 - $20.95. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
