We are seeking experienced government Grant Specialist professionals that can provide solutions in the area of housing, infrastructure, economic development or sustainable energy. Grant professionals will work under seasoned senior managers.

Position Responsibilities Include:

Pre-Award Support:

· Work with grants proposal team coordinating competitive Federal proposals.

· Work with clients to identify new opportunities for funding working with search tools to ensure funding availability and viability.

  • Provide strategic advice and consulting services to shape a priority project in accordance with the federal priorities articulated for a particular grant program
  • Coordinate political and community support for projects

· Under the direction of senior staff, is capable of working with internal and external proposal submission deadlines for various funding opportunities

· May oversee various aspects of the grant application process, including development of budgets for sponsored research and associated funds in accordance with sponsor fiscal policies and procedures

· Will serve under senior staff at the as primary contact for collaborating sites regarding development of budgets, addressing fiscal questions, and monitoring for compliance with Partners and sponsor policies

· Will be required to understand and conform with the administrative, budgetary, and financial compliance regulations of all sponsors as well as with Partners fiscal policy; stay current and up-to-date on all policy changes

Post-award Support:

· Review outgoing award or subaward invoices and financial status reports on behalf of clients which may include, collaborating on annual award progress reports, providing timely closeout of all expired projects through the coordination of fiscal and administrative resources throughout the system; advising on the allowability of costs to be charged to a grant; ensuring appropriate approvals and agreements are in place for human subjects work and data transfers; and monitoring as appropriate through award life cycle. Also, may meet with client regularly to review the grants portfolio or perform an annual performance evaluation

SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Must have 4+ years of related experience, experience with competitive Federal and State grant solicitations
  • Must have demonstrated experience with winning grants for Sustainable Energy or Renewal Energy projects
  • Grants research experience is required
  • Advanced MS Word skills required; experience using other accounting or financial software helpful
  • 3+ years of customer service

Planning, Workflow and Project Management Skills:

  • Must have a track record of capturing federal funding through the competitive grant process
  • Ability to independently prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized and flexible in an environment that requires continuous monitoring of priorities
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Robust problem-solving ability, including the ability to gather information, identify resources, and imagine alternatives

Communication Skills:

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have advanced MS Word skills
  • Cognizant and respectful of cultural differences in communication approach

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $33.00 - $40.00 per hour
