Summary/Objective:

The Associate Information Security Analyst is responsible for assisting in the protection of the organization's information systems and data coordinating and completing projects under Elevations Credit Union's (ECU) Information Security Program. This position assesses current information security situations, evaluates trends, and recommends security improvements and requirements to safeguard ECU's data and regulatory compliance. The Associate Information Security Analyst must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to information security and maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists in audits and assessments of information systems, platforms, and operating procedures in accordance with established corporate standards.
  • Assists with maintaining the Logical Security Access program including documentation and routine review of access privileges systems related to core data processing. Monitors and facilitates the processing of Logical Security Access and Physical Security Access change requests.
  • Assists in conducting security awareness campaigns and phishing simulations to raise awareness and promote a security-conscious culture within the organization.
  • Assists in identifying and assessing vulnerabilities in the organization's IT infrastructure and systems through scanning and management activities. Additionally, collaborates with teams to prioritize & remediate based on risk levels.
  • Assists in monitoring the organization's networks, systems, and applications for security incidents, unusual activity, or potential threats.
  • Analyzes security logs and reports to identify patterns, anomalies, or potential vulnerabilities.
  • Assists in conducting regular security assessments and penetration tests to identify weaknesses and recommend remedial actions.
  • Supports the incident response team in implementing plans and procedures & investigating and responding to security incidents. This includes documenting findings, recommending actions, contributing to post incident analysis, and participating in lessons learned.
  • Supports preparation and delivery of security reports and metrics to management and stakeholders.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Develops knowledge on latest trends, techniques, and vulnerabilities in the field of information security.
  • Assists in researching and analyzing emerging threats and technologies

Required Education and Experience:

  • Entry level professional to three (3) or more years' experience in a mature information security program.
  • Knowledge of fundamental information security concepts, such as network security, access control, encryption, and incident response.
  • Familiarity with common security technologies and tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, vulnerability scanners, and SIEM solutions.
  • Basic understanding of operating systems, networking protocols, and web applications.
  • The ability to write effectively, to explain information security in non-technical terms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced and ever-evolving security landscape.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory
  • Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), are a plus but not required.

Work Environment:

Elevations uses multi-factor authentication to keep our data safe. As such, a personal smart phone is a requirement for employment with us. This job operates in an office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment.

Physical Requirements:

Sitting frequently, walking occasionally, use of hands frequently, hearing constantly, talking frequently, exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
